The company utilizes a low-resistance electrode manufacturing process that enhances conductivity and reduces heat production. This innovation is designed to boost flight efficiency, extend battery life, and maintain consistent performance during lengthy high-load activities such as drone racing and aerial filming. To address weight concerns, Topway has designed these batteries with ultra-thin aluminum-laminated packaging and a reinforced structural design, which improves impact resistance without adding unnecessary mass. This approach enhances the power-to-weight ratio and increases durability for outdoor use.
An integrated battery management system further supports these advancements by providing active cell balancing and protection against overcharging, over-discharging, and short circuits. This system also accommodates fast charging, helping to extend the battery’s lifespan. According to Topway, their battery packs can retain over 80% of their original capacity after more than 300 charge cycles and are capable of operating in ambient temperatures reaching up to 60°C.
A typical 14.8V 1300mAh lithium polymer battery from Topway weighs less than 175 grams and can support burst discharge currents exceeding 200A for short periods.
